Claire Danes and Ewan McGregor have officially joined the cast of “The Spot,” Hulu’s forthcoming drama series from screenwriter Ed Solomon. The show is being produced by A24 as the lead studio, in collaboration with 20th Television.

Danes’ casting follows Kate Winslet’s exit from the project earlier this year in June, reportedly due to creative differences. Winslet, who previously headlined HBO’s “The Regime” and “Mare of Easttown,” had also been set to executive produce “The Spot” through her company, Juggle Productions.

According to the official logline, “The Spot” centers on “a successful surgeon and her schoolteacher husband that begin to suspect that she may be responsible for a child’s hit-and-run death,” as mounting suspicions begin to strain their marriage.

Ed Solomon will serve as the writer, executive producer, and showrunner on the series. This marks his first television project since co-creating and writing HBO Max’s limited series “Full Circle” alongside Steven Soderbergh.

The two also reunited for the art-world comedy feature “The Christophers,” which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and was later acquired by Neon.

In addition to Solomon, Robin Sweet and Ariel Kleiman are also on board as executive producers, with Kleiman attached to direct.

Danes and McGregor’s collaboration on “The Spot” marks a long-awaited reunion, more than two decades ago, both were slated to star in Jodie Foster’s unrealized circus drama “Flora Plum.”

Danes will next appear this November in Netflix’s upcoming miniseries “The Beast Inside Me,” co-starring Matthew Rhys. Her recent work includes her Emmy-nominated role in FX’s “Fleishman Is in Trouble” and a leading performance in Solomon’s “Full Circle.”

McGregor most recently headlined the Paramount+ limited series “A Gentleman in Moscow,” earning both Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice nominations. The actor previously won an Emmy in 2021 for his performance in Netflix’s “Halston” and is set to lead Warner Bros.’ upcoming sci-fi film “Flowervale Street” slated for a summer release.
