As the Osbourne family continues to process the loss of Ozzy Osbourne, they disclosed that a particularly meaningful tribute to the late rocker was sent by King Charles himself.
During the most recent installment of The Osbournes podcast, Sharon, Kelly, and Jack convened for the first time since Ozzy’s passing in July at the age of 76.
Along with sharing their personal experiences with grief, the three discussed the overwhelming support they have received from global fans — and even from the King, 76, personally.
“We got a lovely letter from the King,” Jack revealed, which prompted an admiring response from his mother.
“Our King is an amazing person,” Sharon said. “He is an amazing person, not just because he wrote to us when Ozzy passed, but if he did it for us, know he does it for many, many, many people.”
“Here’s a man that does know what’s going on in the street with people. Not just politics, not just you know, here’s a man that cares about the environment, animals,” she added. “He cares about many, many, many things.”
Prince Charles,Prince of Wales meets Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne and Chico at a reception at Clarence House for those lending their support to Saturday’s star-studded concert celebrating the 30th birthday of the Prince’s Trust on May 18, 2006.
Sharon recounted that the King had also been in contact with the family on a previous occasion, in 2003, when Ozzy was hospitalized following a motorbike accident.

“He’s got a good heart. He didn’t have to do certain things that he’s done for Ozzy,” Sharon said. “He is a good, caring man with a good heart.”
The music manager and TV personality, who was married to Ozzy for 43 years, stated that she and her late husband considered themselves “royalists.”
“We respect him, we respect his family,” she noted. “And he, again, took the time out of his day to write us, have it hand-delivered to us, a note from the King for Ozzy’s passing with his condolences, and that says so much. ”
Ozzy’s official cause of death was a heart attack, but the Black Sabbath frontman had experienced a series of medical problems in his final years, including a Parkinson’s Disease diagnosis.
His burial took place in his hometown of Birmingham, England, on July 30, and Sharon, Kelly and Jack, along with the rest of the funeral procession, visited the Black Sabbath bridge and bench on Broad Street, which had been transformed into a public memorial for the “Crazy Train” singer, adorned with flowers, photos, and notes. Supporters chanted his name and tossed flowers as his hearse passed by.
On that very same day, King Charles’ soldiers also honored Ozzy’s memory. Fan footage shared on TikTok showed the Band of the Coldstream Guards performing the Black Sabbath song “Paranoid” as part of the Changing of the Guard ceremony at Buckingham Palace.
The King and the Prince of Darkness had, in fact, crossed paths several times in the past. Ozzy performed at the “Party at the Palace” concert for Queen Elizabeth’s Golden Jubilee at Buckingham Palace in 2002 and later socialized with the future King Charles at a reception for his charity, then known as The Prince’s Trust, at Clarence House in 2006.
After King Charles ascended to the throne following Queen Elizabeth’s death in September 2022, the “Crazy Train” singer offered words of support for the new monarch.
“He’s a very, very nice man. He’s always treated me with the utmost respect,” Osbourne told The New York Post.
