After becoming a grandfather for the first time, Jon Bon Jovi has revealed the affectionate name he plans to go by, and it has a touching link to his daughter-in-law Millie Bobby Brown’s hit series Stranger Things.
In a recent interview with Savannah Guthrie on Today, the 63-year-old rock legend opened up about the joy of meeting his first grandchild. Bon Jovi’s son, Jake Bongiovi, and Brown welcomed their first child, a daughter, through adoption this past summer.
“Immediately you fall in love,” Bon Jovi shared. “You know, when we met Jake and Millie’s daughter, it was just immediate. You’re like, ‘That’s my granddaughter.'”
The singer revealed he plans to be called “Papa,” joking, “She won’t be able to walk for at least 10 or 12 years because Papa will be carrying her everywhere she goes.”

Interestingly, “Papa” is also the name of a character in Stranger Things, the man who watches over Brown’s character, Eleven, in the lab.
Brown, 21, and Bongiovi, 23, announced in August that they had welcomed a baby girl through adoption, writing on Instagram, “This summer we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption.
We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy.”
A source previously told that Brown had always dreamed of starting a family young. “She’s so young, but so focused. And she has the biggest heart,” the source said.
“Even before they were married, she often spoke about her wish to be a young mom. And Jake was always on the same page. They’re in it together.”
