George Clooney is offering a rare glimpse into his marriage with Amal Clooney, a relationship he has largely kept private despite regularly attending events together and publicly supporting her. In a recent interview with CBS News, Clooney discussed aging and how it has influenced both his personal life and career.
Reflecting on his current perspective, he admitted, “I don’t care about that. I’m too old,” when asked about checking his appearance in movies, laughing as he spoke.
He used his marriage as an example of how his priorities have shifted over time. “Well, when you’re younger, you want to be right about everything, you know, don’t paint that color wall,” he explained.
Clooney went on to reveal that he and Amal have never had a fight. “You know, Amal and I, famously, everybody gets ticked off when I say it, but we’ve never had a fight.
We’ve never had an argument. And some of it is because I’m at this point in life, where if she wants to paint a wall red, I don’t care.” In a prior interview, he also noted, “We’re trying to find something to fight about, but we just can’t seem to.”

The actor credited maturity and experience for the peaceful nature of his marriage, explaining that with age he has become more selective with his energy. “You get to a point in life where you just go, ‘Well, why would that be a discussion or an argument?’
We have a really amazing relationship because we’re also so supportive of each other. But when I was younger, I don’t know that that would have been the case,” Clooney said. “I think I would have found things to, you know, stick my chest out about that I can now go, it doesn’t matter. I don’t care.”
Clooney also shared some insight into parenting their twins, Ella and Alexander. “You’ll have to ask our kids in about 10 years when they’re in therapy,” he joked about their parenting style.
“We’re present, which is fine. I get to drive them to school most of the time, which is fun. Amal is so present and so there and such a great mom. We have very happy kids. We’ll see. I mean, everybody screws it up somewhere along the way. So we’re just trying to do the least of it as we can.”
